Middle Life:
Keith Floyd was a gourmet. His taste for good food and wines made him work for the food industry itself. By the year 1971, Keith was the owner of three restaurants in Bristol. With a series of failures and shuffling around, Keith Floyd finally had a restaurant with the name ‘Restaurant’ at Redland, Bristol. This restaurant was the turning point in Keith Floyd’s career and the direction of his life. The Restaurant was a popular spot with TV actors and artists. Floyd’s first cookery book was soon published and had an introduction by TV star Leonard Rossiter. The media became Floyd’s medium with his job as a radio chef for Radio West in Bristol. In 1984, Keith Floyd was offered the post of a presenter by the BBC television for the programme Floyd on Fish. Keith Floyd was soon to become a celebrity. There was no looking back after this.
